This is a dedicated discussion space for Professor Renzi's ENG 353 course during Spring 2012. We will blog as a way to practice analytical reading and writing, as well as to continue our discussions this semester beyond the confines of our class meetings.

Angels
The thing that interested me most about the movie, was the relationship between the old suffragettes organization and Alice Paul. For the veterans, it was all about diplomacy and strategy. playing the game that men had made for them. although the movie saw it as something negative, i understand how that could be the only way they saw to deal with it. Then Alice Paul comes in and rocks everyone. She simply says it is wrong and all women should refuse to accept it. She is radical and dangerous and things get done. I feel she was what was needed at that precise moment but i also feel that had she been around with Susan B Anthony, she would have dies of starvation in that prison. The people who take the bureaucratic route have a very interesting relationship with the radicals and I think it's so interesting to study when looking at important movements.
