Mrs. Dalloway - Part I

I think it was interesting how the point of view shifts from one character to the other characters; I believe not may novels change point of view.  It changes from third-person, Peter and Rezia. As I read this novel, I was wondering why the author chose to change point of view.  This would help readers understand more about each character's thoughts and view on his/her situations and problems.
