This is a dedicated discussion space for Professor Renzi's ENG 353 course during Spring 2012. We will blog as a way to practice analytical reading and writing, as well as to continue our discussions this semester beyond the confines of our class meetings.

Bunner Sisters, Part I - Me Young Hong
I think the conversation between Ann Eliza and Evelina about a store-keeper from a store Ann Eliza bought her the clock. I believe not many people would talk about a store-keeper who met the first time; especially the part where Evelina asks Ann Eliza about his name and age, "What you say his name was?... Herman Ramy... How old is he?" (p. 279, Wharton), was interesting. I thought that 'why would she get interested in a guy who her elder sister met in a random store and she has never met before?' In this chapter, the narrator tries to show that it is the prediction of relationship betwen Ann Eliza and the guy named Herman Ramy.
